Pristine and virtually untouched, the National Forests of Western Montana are simply some of the most beautiful wilderness areas left in the USA. The Lolo Hike will give you the chance to experience firsthand the grandeur of Montana's best.

Get refreshed in God's country. Drink from mountain streams, breath the noticeably fresh mountain air, nibble on wild mountain huckleberries, and sleep under the exceptionally dark wilderness sky. You may have the chance to photo the area's wild inhabitants, including the ram, elk, golden eagle, reclusive black bear, and others.

The Lolo Hike package includes a relaxing, cross-country train trip from your home state. Arrive rested and ready for adventure. Your trip home is provided as well. Your only responsibility is to bring what you want for the train ride. After you are picked up at the train station, we take care of everything else.

Included in the Lolo Hike ($600):

All Food, (off of the train).Lodging, (two nights of mountain camping).A hiking tour through national forests and private land, (one day).Round-trip transportation from your home state (via train).Shuttling between train station and base camp.Most camping supplies.A welcome kit that explains everything you'll need to know and bring to enjoy a rugged hike through the mountains.

The cost of the package is $600. The Lolo Hike is offered all year long, almost every weekend.

For reservations, send seven things: .1. Name.2. Address .3. Age (18 and over only) .4. Telephone number .5. Desired date of arrival in Montana (all hikers arrive on Fridays only) .6. The Amtrak train station you will be departing from.7. Payment of $600 made out to YARAK. You will promptly receive a welcome packet in the mail with your train tickets, a list of the things you need to bring, and other trip info. Space is limited.

We also have room available for the Lolo Backpacking Hike. The price for this hike is also $600, but includes a four day hike through the mountains and camping at remote wilderness lakes. The Lolo Backpacking Hike does not include roundtrip transportation or food. Follow the same directions above to apply, but indicate that you are interested in the Lolo Backpacking Hike.

Directions: Yarak Wilderness Trips is located in western Montana, 2 hours from the Libby train station. Shuttle service to and from the train station is provided free. Hikers not arriving by train must provide their own transportation directly to the base camp, roughly 110 miles west of Missoula. Specific driving directions are included in the welcome kit.
