You'd think that Louis Toavs would never have to buy another tractor. With more than 500 John Deere tractors in his backyard, the farmer and rancher should be set for life. A tour through the collection is like taking a trip through a history book on John Deere, including one of every John Deere tractor made from 1923 to 1953. His collection can be seen on a farm north of Wolf Point. His tractors go back as afar as 1916 and are lined up in chronological order inside the building on his farm. They also spill over into his farmyard. More than 500 of the tractors in the Toavs collection are 2-cylinder models. He has dozens of John Deere stationary engines, including a working 1-cylinder 'Hit and Miss'. Louis has John Deere implements- combines, threshers, a huge eight-bottom plow, a John Deere grain auger, John Deere this and John Deere that- it's an amazing assemblage. If you love old tractors, Louis' farm yard would be well worth a visit. Directions: John Deere Tractor Museum is located 1 mile west of Wolf Point then 15 miles north on Highway 250, all oiled road.
