Granite Creek can be fished either upstream or downstream from the trailhead, although private property will be encountered approximately 1 mile downstream. The upper 6 miles of Granite Creek travel through a steep, timbered canyon and are accessed by a fairly easy, well-maintained trail. The stream is approximately 15 feet wide and 1 foot deep with some nice pools that are generally good fishing for small rainbow and eastern brook trout (6 to 9 inches). Easy access to Flower Creek Road and the trailhead offer additional recreational opportunities in the area. Directions: From Libby, travel south on Highway 2, and turn right onto Golf Course Hill Road across from the Champion International lumber yard. Turn left (south) at the three-way intersection at the top of the hill and travel approximately .5 mile. Turn right (west) at the Granite Creek Road and travel about 8 miles to the Granite Lake trailhead. Granite Creek Kootenai National Forest, Libby, MT 59923
