This large 5 bedroom Bed and Breakfast (3 rooms face the lake) in Colstrip, Montana is built on a gentle slope overlooking picturesque Castle Rock Lake-one of southeastern Montana's best-kept secrets. Hostess Debby Haas wants to welcome you to this scenic lake and relaxing atmosphere of rolling hills covered with Ponderosa Pines enroute to the Black Hills, Yellowstone Park, Glacier Park, and the North Dakota Badlands. We are in the heart of Custer Country, centrally located between the Little Bighorn Battlefield (Custer's Last Stand) and the famous Lewis and Clark Trail of 1804. Year round fishing for bass, northern pike, crappie, walleye, catfish (state record) and bluegills make this fishing lake a favorite place to visit. Hunting of upland game birds (pheasant, grouse, and turkey) and trophy sized mule deer make this area a favorite in the fall time. We are located on a waterfowl migratory flyway, making spring and fall time a special event for bird enthusiasts. A rowboat or paddle boat enhances enjoyment of the lake in the summer, while ice fishing and ice skating contribute to making even winter visits memorable and pleasurable experiences. Everyone deserves an occasional getaway. Imagine yourself pedaling around the lake in the pedal boat, or even fishing from the pedal boat (has a canopy). A walk around the lake (2 1/2 miles) at any time of the day is wonderful, but morning and evening is exceptional. You can watch and listen to the variety of birds the lake attracts. The peace and quiet, along with the beautiful scenery, is guaranteed to be memorable. . Sit on the balcony and read about the local history; plan an excursion into the back country with local experts; golf the nearly 9 hole golf course; horseback riding, etc. Wonderful opportunities are awaiting.
