Blackfeet Historic Sites invites you to learn about the history and heritage of the Blackfeet Nation. Half day and full day mini-bus tours are offered, personally guided by a Blackfeet interpreter. Tours depart daily, seven days a week, from the Museum of the Plains Indian and cover portions of the Blackfeet Nation with historic and cultural points of interest. Lunch is provided on full day tours. Tours can be customized to group or individual interests, including interpretive walks in Glacier National Park. A reflection of the rich and varied history of the Blackfeet people representing a unique cross-section of tribal life from prehistoric time to the present. Sites include: Sun Dance, Buffalo jumps, Tipi Rings, Old North Trail, Old Agency and the Starvation winter of 1883-84, Holy Family Mission, Meriwether Lewis meets the Blackfeet, Fort Shaw and Fort McLeod Road. Curly Bear Wagner, a Blackfeet Indian cultural leader and historian, conducts interpretive tours of the Blackfeet Reservation during the summer, as well as 'first nations perspective' tours of the travels of Lewis and Clark in the area. He also gives talks in Glacier National Park's 'Native America Speaks' program in the park's campgrounds and hostels several times a week throughout the summer. Wagner's Lewis & Clark tours extend as far as the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls, and to Loma.
