Located on the edge of Glacier National Park, just yards from the main west entrance, Belton Chalet and Lodge was the original Great Northern Railroad Chalet. Built in 1910, the same year the park was opened, Belton served as the primary jumping off spot for Park visitors coming by rail. Amtrak still stops here twice a day. Now, after nearly two years of extensive restoration, this historic registry property is once again the grand chalet of yesteryear welcoming you to Glacier Country. Sit back on the deck and enjoy the breath taking views of Apgar Lookout, hike miles of trails, fish, float the rapids, bird watch, or ride all day on horseback. In the winter, cross country ski on mile after mile of nearby groomed and natural trails. Then relax by the roaring fire in the beautiful chalet lobby, or eat dinner in the Belton dining room, featuring Country Cut Ribeye Steaks and Northwest King Salmon Filet. We are currently open year round for lodging. We close the main lodge down around the date of October 15th. However, we do reopen the lodge around May 27th. We do keep our cabins open year round. They are cozy cabins that can sleep up to 6 people with a fireplace. For the first time, we are reopening our restaruant for Saturday and Sunday business starting January 8th and until March 27th. We would like to encourage folks to come and cross country ski in the park and have a wonderful dinner by the fire. There are also various nearby golf courses. Whether you want a relaxing romantic get away or a weekend workout adventure, come be our guest at Belton Chalet and let us make you feel like you're 'still back there'.
