The Potosi Alpine Yurt is a winter get-away for travelers with an adventurous spirit. Located on a high ridge in the isolated but accessible Tobacco Root Mountains, the Yurt offers cozy accommodations, great views, and easy access to gentle bowls, steep alpine terrain, and spectacular ridge-top tours.
Suitable for intermediate skiers as well as backcountry devotees and snowshoers, the Yurt is reached by a steady ascent on snow roads and trails. The trip in usually takes three to four hours. The silence and beauty of winter encompass you as you ski in, and the Yurt provides a welcome haven in the mountains.
We offer a complete guided trips of 3 days (2 nights) which include all meals and guided day tours. A relaxed pace, great meals and beautiful scenery combine for a fantastic winter adventure. Directions: The Potosi Alpine Yurt is a mountain hideaway in the Tobacco Root Mountains 54 miles west of Bozeman. The Yurt is reached by county road from Harrison and then by a moderately strenuous 3 to 5 mile ski or snowshoe trip.
