Paradise Valley is the setting for Montana's premier vacation retreat. The Trout House is in the heart of Yellowstone Country, nestled on the banks of Six Mile Creek with stunning views of Emigrant Peak. This beautiful log cabin offers you complete privacy with all the comforts of home. We are adjacent to the Absaroka/Beartooth Wilderness Area and the Dome Mountain National Elk Refuge, 7 miles from Daily Lake Recreation Area and minutes from Chico Hot Springs. Wildlife sightings can include deer, elk, moose, bear, wolves, or mountain goats and big horn sheep. Watch golden eagles catch the updrafts on the mountain or observe bald eagles fishing the Yellowstone River. The Trout House is situated amidst some of the best Trout waters in the country. Whether it's our world famous spring creeks, high country lakes, mountain streams or the fabled waters of Yellowstone Park, you are no more than 30 minutes away. And the Yellowstone River is just a five minute drive down the road. We will be pleased to arrange daily guide service fore those guests wanting to fish area waters. The Trout House is offered year round as your complete vacation retreat. The three bedrooms and 2 full baths can accommodate up to eight guests. The Rainbow room offers a queen log bed, private bath and a view and sounds of the creek. the Cutthroat room has a queen log bed, shared bath and a view of Emigrant Mountain. The Golden room sleeps four in two sets of bunk beds with futons on the bottom, shared bath and stunning mountain views as well. For those guests exclusive to The Trout House, we offer an authentic Sioux Indian Plains tipi. From June through September three guests can enjoy a cozy and comfortable night as did Montana's early natives. The Tipi is roomy, lighted with lanterns, has a carpeted floor and three beds fitted with thick foam mattresses and fluffy sleeping bags. The Tipi is streamside and nestled in a grove of cottonwoods with an outdoor fire ring for campfires under the stars. The Trout House is perfect for small groups, families and honeymooners. The vaulted great room is cozy and comfortably furnished. Relax before the stone fireplace and enjoy the splendid views, play a board game, settle into a good book, listen to your favorite tunes, watch a movie or just savor the peace and quiet. The open kitchen was designed by Chef Francine and includes everything necessary to prepare your favorite meals. Barbecue on the streamside gas grill or toast marshmallows over the fire pit. And if you also want a vacation from cooking, there are restaurants and cafes close by. If it's the great outdoors you are interested in, you will not be disappointed. Whether it's fishing and horseback riding or naturalist tours of Yellowstone National Park and scenic flights over Paradise Valley, you make your own itinerary. Walk in the woods, hike the hills, climb Emigrant Peak, add to your Audubon check list, play horseshoes or just stretch out in the hammock. Soak in the streamside hot tub and look up and see more stars than you ever imagined. You may even hear the yip of the coyotes or the howl of the wolves. The Trout House is a magical place during the fall and winter months. There is cross country skiing nearby or in Yellowstone National Park. For the downhill enthusiast, Bridger Bowl Ski Area is only an hour away. Dog sled rides are available and ice skating is offered on our half acre pond.
