Ride the Outlaw Trails!! History buffs, outlaw fans, wagon trainers, trail riders, and adventurers! Experience the True West in its' original setting. Travel by horseback with a wagon for your home as you follow the trails of Kid Curry, Butch Cassidy, and the Sun Dance Kid through the Little Rocky Mountains and the Missouri River Breaks of Montana where the Wild Bunch lived, played, killed, and some died.
Travel the trails from the Curry Ranch to the gold camps of Zortman and Landusky where the scenes of some of the most wild and colorful escapades of the west were played out. Visit the graves of those who died in a hail of bullets.
Each traveler is provided with a saddle horse for your own personal use. Each group of six travelers will be accompanied by a professional wrangler to assist you with your horse and gear if need be and to point out the highlights of the areas we travel through. Authentic, original, wooden-wheeled wagons handled by our colorful teamsters will be your headquarters. Hearty meals including Buffalo and Montana beefsteak with all the trimmings will be provided by your own chuckwagon cook in the ""all you can eat"" tradition of the West.
Because we will be traveling by horseback and wagon in a wilderness setting under the unpredictable Big Sky of Montana, we must offer these trips to adventurers who are fourteen years of age or older, experienced with the outdoors, and can weather a storm or two. Since we will be living out of our wagons we must limit personal gear to a 50 pound total, including your bedroll. We request that no dogs, stud horses, firearms, or personal alcohol be included in the trip. Alcohol and other beverages will be provided by OLTA and alcohol-free trips (not free alcohol trips!) are available for your enjoyment on request. Accommodations can be made for special diets and other needs if you let us know in advance. The western setting will be a photographer's dream-come-true, and we request you dress in western attire for the duration of the trip.
Directions: Zortman is located about 150 miles from both Great Falls and Billings and is 50 miles from Malta, Montana. Major airlines provide service to Billings and Great Falls, US Highway 2 ( the Hi-Line route to Glacier National Park) and Amtrak provides easy access to Malta.
