Buttermilk Skies offers preservation of the Homestead Era through quilting, literature, period recipes, and music from those ethnic groups who helped conquer the 'Great American Desert' that we might call it home. First and second hand memories of the Homestead Era are the inspiration for both our quilts and our books, transporting one back to an era that weeps for a homeland lost to the ages, yet anticipates prosperity on a windswept prairie. Watch our latest quilt in progress. and others on the drawing board. Select from over 2,000 calicos which ones you would choose for a quilt. Sit with us a spell. and enjoy a cup of coffee or iced tea, along with some homemade cake, cookies, or fresh bread spread with homemade jam.
