Ryan & Maclean, or 'The Tea Room' as it is known locally, offers a quiet space to gather your thoughts and a gathering place to meet your friends. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a European tea room, enhanced with a Celtic theme.
Our menu is composed of authentic homemade dishes prepared from scratch in our kitchen. It includes beautiful salads, true home cooked soups, substantial sandwiches filled with meat roasted on site and complemented with marvelous desserts. Specialties include Sticky Toffee Pudding and Irish Whiskey Brownies. While we encourage everyone to try our tea, we also accommodate those who prefer alternative beverages. Ryan & Maclean also delivers lunch at no charge for groups of 5 or more.
Ryan & Maclean gift shop is filled with delightful Irish, Scottish and English products: music, jewelry, clothing, books, china and even groceries! We offer the best selection of tea and tea related items like bone china cups and saucers, tea cozies, a wide range of teapots and mugs, kettles, infusers and disposable tea bags made in Montana. Tea is available in prepackaged boxes and tins from reputable companies such as Harney's, Bewley's and Taylors of Harrogate, or our fine teas can be measured out for you by the ounce or pound and packaged in an attractive bag or tin.
A beautiful high tea will be served any afternoon by reservation. We'll provide your guests a three-course offering with a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with lemon curd, and sweet treats, along with all the tea you can drink. You provide the conversation.
Although we are not open for dinner, special private parties can be scheduled for evening. The menu ranges from Shepherd's Pie or Pasties to Prime Rib or Poached Salmon, and can be altered to suit the occasion and your needs.

Directions: Ryan & Maclean is located in the historic Carriage house in downtown Helena, one-half block east of Last Chance Gulch on Lawrence Street. The Grand Street Theatre, Helena's year-round theatre, is 1 1/2 blocks west and the Holter Museum of Art is one block east of us. Several antique stores and art galleries are located on our block.
