Tobacco River Campground is at an elevation of 2,460 feet and contains 6 designated campsites. This site is located adjacent to the Tobacco River in a natural forested area. It is also in the vicinity of 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa and The Hoodoos, a limestone formation found in an adjoining bay off the lake. There is an undeveloped boat ramp and fishing access nearby. Area lakes provide fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout, kokanee salmon, and whitefish. During high reservoir fluctuations, backflow finds its way into the river. Directions: From Eureka, follow US Highway 37 west for 3.5 miles. Cross the bridge at the Tobacco River and travel 0.5 miles to the Fishing Access sign. Turn right at this point, and then take the first left on the gravel road. From here it is 0.8 miles to the site. Tobacco River Campground Kootenai National Forest, Eureka, MT 59917
