Come as a guest and leave as a friend. Retreat to the Richert's home set in a secluded valley with mountain vistas. Relax and feel time disappear. No scheduled activities or special programs, join the Richerts for the getaway of your dreams. Steve and Sheryl invite you to savor home-cooked meals and real western hospitality. Their bunkhouse, an 1880s barn with its hand-hewn logs is being renovated and in the mean time guests are invited to escape the summer heat and stay with them in their ranch home. Only one small group at a time enjoys the privacy of the two bedrooms with designated bathroom. The larger bedroom has a double and a single bed, the smaller bedroom has a single. You can do as much or as little as you like. Seasonal ranch activities include salting the cattle in their 3000-acre rented pasture, old-fashioned branding (seasonal) and fencing. You may be interested in learning to rope or crack a whip. Also at the ranch is a small saddle shop where Steve tools leather, braids rawhide, and builds saddles with his son in their spare time. An interesting option is Steve's Packing Clinic. Sign up to learn the fine art of packing as Steve demonstrates on one of his gentle riding or pack mules. He knows all the best scenic trails for evening trail rides in the area. There is limited availability for openings on Steve's guided fall elk hunts. Sheryl's cooking is something to rave about. Her supper cookouts over the campfire next to Bridger Creek are memorable as are her guided nature walks. Let her take you on tours of neighboring ranches and think about extending your stay with one of the other Montana Bunkhouses. Range Riders Ranch and Cattle Drive is just next door. Be sure to bring your camera and plenty of film. Rates for the working ranch vacation ranges from $150 to $190/person/day including activities, lodging and family style meals --1st person $190/day.--Additional adults $165/day.--Children $140/day.--Rates/day for Family of four - $635.00/day | ||||||
