We are the NEW campground next to Custer's Little Bighorn Battlefield in southeast Montana! We are now open with 25 pull through full hook-up sites, another 16 pull through sites with water and electric hook-ups (all 23, 30 and 50 amp), 20 tent/teepee sites and guest house. We have great soft artesian water! Our wash house is complete with laundry, handicapped facilities, baby changing stations and 3 sinks, benches, plenty of counters and mirrors, 4 stalls and 3 showers on each Men's and Women's sides. Most campsites are handicapped as well. Out lots are covered with native grasses and wildflowers. Campers have gravel pads with plenty of room for slide outs. Each site has a picnic table, top notch grill and garbage facilities nearby. We also have four 16' Crow style teepees that are popular options for $35.00 per night. The office has a small gift shop and internet access, fax, copy and phone available for camper use. Guests have an expansive view of the Big Horn Mountains, Little Big Horn River Valley and the Battlefield area. Most often, one can see clear into Wyoming! Most of our guest comments this season are: 'The View! The Sunsets! The Quiet! The great big clean shower house!' We are exactly halfway between Sheridan, WY and Billings, MT, two great western Mecca's on Interstate 90, and on the Eastern end of the long Highway 212 route to the Dakotas. We have a pavilion within view of the Battlefield for night time talks, parties, etc. Our play area is all ranch and native oriented; no plastic playgrounds! We have a sand pit, logs and stumps to climb and play on and lots of hills to climb and roam. There is plenty of room for volleyball or horseshoes too. Pet owners like the perimeter walking area as well. Our rates are families of 4; additional people are $3.00 each. The 7TH Ranch has done private, custom historical tours of the Battlefield areas for 12 years. Our family has hosted famous authors, military groups, History of America Tours, television/movie producers and production crews as well as guests from foreign countries. Our guest house keeps busy with these groups. Over 400,000 people tour Little Bighorn Battlefield annually! Knowledge of the history and culture of this area is our specialty. Chip is well known as a historical guide of the area. We are members of ARVC, COAM , Travel Montana, Custer Country, three local Chambers and several historical groups. The 7TH Ranch is also a working ranch. We have eight horse stalls for equine travelers. Our new arena is 160'x320' with full concessions, bathrooms and announcers booth and a 50' round training corral for workouts. Equine travelers are welcome to ride the hills and explore at their leisure. The ranch is home to the 'Greasy Grass Scouts', a Single Action Cowboy Shooting Club that hosts both mounted and ground shooting events throughout the year. Custer's Last Stand Reenactment has been named of the best 100 National Events for many years. It takes place locally the third week of June with a Military Ball, Living History displays, parades, Bull-a-Rama, Indian marathon, craft show, seminars and lots of action everywhere! Crow Fair is always the third week of August and is considered the world's largest teepee gathering featuring Indian rodeos, parades, dancing contests and a unique look at many Indian nations. The Big Horn River is one of the top ten trout streams in the nation and fishing is a good option. The Yellowstone River nearby is one of the few remaining 'wild' rivers in the nation, right on Lewis & Clark's route! Pompey's Pillar, the last vestige of the Corps of Discovery, is waiting there. We are a Montana family owned and operated business with a mobile home and RV background, as well as ranching and teaching. We look forward to doing business with you! This is an exciting addition to our family adventure! Please let us know if we can advertise with you or host a group!
