The Blackfeet artist Darrell Norman offers Blackfeet Cultural History Tours as a step-on-guide. This service offer is part of Lodgepole Gallery & Tipi Village's over-all concept of cultivating the Blackfeet culture and showing its beauty and moving history to the world by providing overnight stay, in a traditional tipi camp, exhibiting Northern Plains Indian fine art and raising Spanish Mustang horses (original Indian horse).Darrell Norman has been a requested speaker and historian for museums, schools, Glacier National Park and tour companies for many years. In 2002 he received the Community Spirit Award by the First Peoples Fund for his efforts to keep the traditional Blackfeet art forms as part of the Blackfeet culture alive. The Blackfeet Cultural History Tours leads to tipi rings, buffalo jumps, the old Mission School and includes a guided tour through the Museum of the Plains Indian. A full day tour can include a visit to the base of Chief Mountain, the holy mountain of the Blackfeet people.
Directions: Blackfeet Cultural Tours are available out of the Lodgepole Gallery and Tipi Village, 2 1/4 miles west of Browning on US 89. 15 minutes from Glacier National Park.
