The Shiloh Ranch Inn (SRI) is a single family two-story home with 4 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen, dining and living room, parlor, deck for barbecuing and wildlife and bird watching. The fully modern kitchen has all amenities and appliances to cook your own meals at your leisure. Gold Creek itself is a mere 100' from the back door. There is approximately 2 miles of private creek access on the ranch itself for fishing. It is catch and release only. The SRI is a vintage 1920s fully restored home, with all practical modern conveniences. Restored in 2003, the home is furnished with antiques and a chandelier dining room with a buffet and round oak table and chairs. Bedrooms are decorated and furnished with same decor. One might see white-tail deer, moose, elk. A variety of birds, including, sand hill cranes, ducks, geese, blue herons, bald and golden eagles, red tail hawks sparrow hawks, Lewis woodpeckers and many small birds too numerous to mention. Brook trout and German brown trout are the type of fish in the creek. We are within an hour or less driving time to ghost towns other stream fishing and the Deer Lodge National Forest. A convenient place to stay on your way to and from Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. The Shiloh Ranch is approximately 1,100 acres and a working cattle and hay producing facility. For liability reasons limited access is in force. If you are traveling with horses we do have a barn to stable your horses. Gold Creek and the immediate area is steeped in gold mining history, early pioneering and ranching. Gold was rumored to have been first discovered in the Northwest US on the ranch itself. Lewis and Clark are said to have traveled through this area and the Clark Fork River is located between I-90 and the SRI. The Golden Spike was driven a short distance away, where the Great Northern Railroad met to complete the connection of its east-west transcontinental route. Although to actually view it, the exact spot has restricted access. The town of Drummond, approximately 12 miles from SRI, has groceries, gas and cafes. Deer Lodge, the seat of Powell County and all the amenities of a city of 2500 residents, is approximately 17 miles away.
