The decor is casual and relaxing, reminisent of a solid, wood enhanced British pub. Old signs and posters related to railroad days decorate the spare, tasteful looking place. The Beanery Bar and Grill will enhance the Historic District, now a four- block area on the National Register of Historic Places. You can get a bowl or cup of Navy bean soup, which gave the original restaurant its name. The original Northern Pacific recipe is used and the satisfying serving comes with a fresh, warm piece of hobo bread. The Beanery building was for many years a staple in the downtown, much as beans were to the camp cook's supper menu. The historic building served travelers and tourists, locals and railroad workers and many mourned the closing in the mid-1970s when railroad routes were curtailed through Billings. Enter the Beanery Bar and Grill. Both lunch and dinner are served from 11:00am - 1:00am.
