Relax and enjoy a refreshing dip in natural hot mineral water at Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs. There are three pools open for your pleasure: two indoor pools. The hot pool 8' X 26' about 106 degrees and a 50' X 60' which is about 90 degrees. The outside slide pool is about 100 degrees. Each of the pools has an individual inlet and outlet of constantly flowing water. The indoor pools are open year-round. The water comes form an artesian well that is about 3200 feet deep. The temperature is 106 degrees and flows at 750 GPM with 495 PSI. This water contains many beneficial minerals essential for the human body. Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs was discovered in 1922, when a man exploring for oil encountered a tremendous flow of hot mineral water at 3200 feet. Legend has it that cowboys made use of the hot water for their Saturday night baths. The hot springs name was in honor of a particular rock resembling a buffalo which signifies the staff of life for several Native American tribes including the Chippewa, Cree, Assinboine and Sioux.
