This four bedroom farmhouse has been beautifully restored to its original style of 1878. The home enjoys a private location on the 750 acre property. From the front porch, the view crosses fields of wheat and alfalfa to the spectacular Absaroka Mountains. It is a very short drive, or a nice walk, to your access to the Yellowstone River. The home is ten miles east of Big Timber, convenient to shopping and restaurants. The larger cities of Billings and Bozeman are each about 70 miles away.
The period antique furnishings of the home are a nice match to the original woodwork and architecture of the home. There are four bedrooms in the home. The master bedroom is on the main level, with an attractive queen size bed. On the lower level of the home, there is one bedroom with two twin beds. The upper level of the home has another bedroom with two twin beds. Then, there is one more very small bedroom with just one twin bed. The main level of the home has one full bathroom. On the upper level is a second bath with a stall shower. On the lower level of the home is the third full bathroom.
The home has a spacious kitchen with all new appliances. All the dishes and cookware that you will need are available. There is a dining room adjoining the kitchen with a table that seats up to twelve comfortably.
The cozy living room is centered around the woodstove, which makes a great place for relaxing after a day of hiking, fishing or exploring. A big bay window gives you wonderful views of whatever wildlife is taking advantage of the nearby fields and meadows. There is a television with VCR and satellite service as well. Another great living space is the wonderful screened in sun porch on the front of the home, perfect for having coffee in the morning while listening to all the birdlife outside, taking an afternoon nap, or getting together with the whole crew after a day on the river. There is a washer and dryer in the lower level of the home for guests' use.
In addition to the amazing fishing opportunities on the property, both on the Yellowstone River and the stocked ponds on the property, from this great location you can go hiking, fishing, horseback riding, or take a walk in Big Timber to visit the museums, galleries and antique shops. The Yellowstone River Trout Hatchery and the Crazy Mountain Museum are also in Big Timber. In winter, there is cross-country skiing or show-shoeing. There's so much to do!
