Located along the Lewis and Clark trail in the heart of hunting and fishing country, East Fork House (often referred to as 'Fort Clark') is situated just a few feet from the East Fork of the Bitterroot River. East Fork House is a five bedroom, three-bath log home complete with a front porch and back deck on the river. The house will comfortably accommodate up to eight people with six twin beds, one double bed and one queen size bed. The river receives very little fishing pressure in this area and teems with wild trout that readily take dry flies most of the year. Big game abounds in the surrounding forest and it is not unusual to see deer or Big Horn Sheep in the front yard in the evening or in the early morning hours. Sometimes even an elk or a moose may wander by. Area activities include: fishing, horseback riding, downhill and cross-country skiing, hiking, four wheeling on ATVs, hunting, river rafting, bird watching, snowmobiling, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, antiquing and historic sightseeing. It is worth noting that most of the restaurants in the Bitterroot Valley are usually excellent House services and amenities: Jacuzzi, satellite TV, VCR, DVD, CD player, kitchen, and laundry.
