Burke Ranch Outfitters offers guided hunts on the Charles M Russell Wildlife Refuge. We hunt elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, antelope, prairie dogs and upland birds. We have cabins and wall tents for hunters to stay in. The independent traveler or a medium size group will enjoy the comfortable cabins which are located on the ranch. Families are welcome and encouraged. The cabins and school lend themselves as a good place to hold a retreat or workshop. Better yet, attend one of our scheduled retreats held in June and July. Our large log cabin accommodates 10 to 12 people comfortably. The smaller log cabin has room for 2-4. The restored Faranuf School is perfect for a group of 5 to 7. The facilities each have bathrooms and full kitchens. The tree house is the bonus. One of the original bunkhouses, the tree house boasts a birds eye view of the cottonwood trees and the awesome Montana sunsets. Kids and adults alike love it. Picturesque and scenic, the Burke Ranch's rugged beauty is unmatched. The Missouri Breaks rise above Fort Peck Lake and our guests will virtually view what Lewis & Clark did as they made their journey up the Missouri River. Our ranch borders Fort Peck Lake for 10 miles. The ranch's back door opens to the Charles M Russell Wildlife Refuge. Wildlife is abundant and viewing is as easy as driving down the road. The Missouri Breaks elk herd is one of the largest and most visible in Montana. The elk make their home on and off the Burke Ranch. June, July and August are great months for viewing elk. Deer, antelope and upland birds make their home in the surrounding hills and breaks. The Missouri Breaks trails are made for hiking and exploring. Lake access is less than a mile away at Bone Trail. Bone Trail is one of the oldest trails to what used to be the Missouri River. Corp of Engineer maintain the boat ramp and picnic area. Fort Peck Lake boasts some of the best Walleye Pike, Northern Pike and Bass fishing in Montana. This is all within a 5 minute drive from the ranch headquarters where the lodging facilities are located. Amtrak railway trains are Eastbound and Westbound through Glasgow daily. Big Sky airlines has 1 arriving flight from Billings and 2 departure flights to Billings daily.
