S&W Outfitters was established in 1981 with the idea of treating clients with the same consideration and respect that we would like to be treated with if in their place. Our goal is to provide our clients with a first class hunt and a very memorable experience, to be remembered long after their trophy mounts have faded and lost its splendor. We choose to offer you the best we can. Our hunts are 100% fair chase, with no game fences or guaranteed kills. All hunts are fully guided and include transportation from nearest major airport, in field transportation, in field care of game, guide service, hot, hearty meals and warm, dry cabins. In rare cases, tents may be used. Game processing, taxidermy work and any shipping can be arranged by the outfitter at the hunter's expense. Our licensed guides give 100% to insure that you have a safe, successful and enjoyable outdoor experience during your stay with us. S&W Outfitters is licensed under the Department of Commerce, Board of Outfitters and follow all game laws set by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks. At our East Fork Camp, rifle and archery hunts for antelope, mule deer, whitetail deer, bear and elk(archery only) are conducted in the heart of central Montana, in the Big Snowy Mountains on several private ranches totaling over 40,000 acres, plus 2120 acres of leased state land. Having exclusive hunting privileges on these ranches for years, we consistently produce success rates of 85 to 100 percent on quality animals. The elevation varies from 4,000 to 6,2000 feet depending on game hunted. The terrain varies from brushy rolling hills and flat prairie lands to aspen and pine covered mountains. Hunting varies from still hunting, rattling, glassing, stalking, tree stands and calling, depending on the time of season and game hunted. At our West Fork camp, our rifle hunts for elk and mule deer are conducted on 24,000 private acres in prime elk country, nestled away on the front of the Madison Range in Southwestern Montana. This, along with our adjoining State and Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest permits , gives our clients a hunt of their dreams. For years our clients have had their chance to harvest the bull elk they only thought about as well as a chance for a wonderful mountain mule deer. For a first time elk hunter or for those who have hunted these majestic animals for years, S&W Outfitters generally runs a 100 percent chance for success. The elevation varies from 5,000 to 10,000 feet with very steep mountains and valleys to open peaks and heavy timbered ridges. The only means of transportation from camp to hunting area is by foot or horseback. Good horses, quality saddles, scabbard and tack are provided. The cabin, itself, is accessible from road by 4-wheel drive, eliminating the need for a long pack ride in.
