Experience Montana is located in the beautiful, broad valley Rocky Mountains in Southwestern Montana. There are many outstanding rivers, lakes and scenic mountain ranges. I personally guide most of our boat and wade fishing on rivers and lakes with the season beginning in April and ending in November. Fish species available include brown, rainbow, brook and cutthroat trout, Arctic Grayling, Rocky Mountain whitefish and northern pike. Our anglers range from expert to novice and we enjoy teaching the latter. Fly-fishing is something people can enjoy all their lives. For persons who would rather spin fish we can do that too. For those who would rather just enjoy a scenic or historic float, we provide that opportunity. Of special interest are floats on the trail of Lewis and Clark. For larger fishing parties I work with other experienced outfitters who help me provide the needed guiding service. For those who want land based recreation, we also do scenic educational tours which stress wildlife viewing, mountain scenery, much history including Lewis and Clark, photography, short hikes, wild flowers, forests, outstanding vistas, Montana stories and just plain relaxing. Of particular interest for the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial is the availability of detailed tours of their trail from the head of the Missouri River to the Continental Divide. We can provide side trips to Great Falls and other area rivers. We stress fun and safety on all our trips. Travel is done in a full size van or a comfortable.four-wheel drive pickup with a super cab. Equipment is furnished free of charge, including binoculars, spotting scope, bird, flower and history books and for anglers, fly and spin fishing tackle .Allen Schallenberger, your outfitter, is a fourth generation Montana native with a M.S. degree, former research and management biologist, cattle rancher and present fishing outfitter and tour guide. I am an active river conservationist and long-time history buff with much experience working in the area traveled by Lewis and Clark. We can relate many interesting stories about the expedition including personnel and expedition difficulties, wildlife, vegetation, Indians, fur trapping history, hunting, fishing and Montana history. We will show you what Montana is and take a peek at the past. For a free brochure please send your request to the address below, call our 800 number, fax, or e-mail.
