The Glacier County Museum opened its doors Oct. 19, 1985. This 13.9 acre site was donated by Darrell and Rod Peterson. The Glacier County Museum's purpose is to preserve and reflect on the history of the homesteaders, the oil boom of the 1930's and the history of the Blackfeet tribe. This museum is supported by the county and operated by the Glacier Historical Society. The museum is currently participating in the MAP II Accreditation to improve and promote the museum on a national and state level. One main building; three historic buildings; oil derrick; farm equipment; windmill. Directions: The Glacier County Museum is located east of Cut Bank on Old Kevin Highway. Turn north at the sign near the last .railroad crossing, proceed north 3/4 of a mile, and the museum is located near the Cut Bank Sports Center by the oil derrick.
