Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, a 4 Diamond, AAA rated resort, is the perfect vacation spot. Nestled high in the Rocky Mountains and only 30 miles from the north entrance of Yellowstone Park, the ranch offers the finest in service, food, accommodations and loads of fun.
If you are an early morning riser, your day could begin with a hot cup of coffee while viewing a colorful Montana sunrise, enjoying a crisp morning walk or watching the wranglers herd the horses down the mountainside.
After breakfast, our experienced wranglers will have your horse saddled and ready to take you on some of the most beautiful terrain ever imagined. The views along the trails are absolutely breath-taking. After returning from the morning ride, you may want to hop in the pool for a refreshing swim or relax in the sauna until the noon meal is served.
Your afternoon may find you soaking up the sun in the pool area, exploring the various hiking trails, rallying in a tennis match or floating the Yellowstone River. If you are an avid rider, you can jump right back on your horse and take part in the afternoon ride.
Mountain Sky is conveniently located giving you access to world class trout fishing. Big Creek, which flows right through the ranch, will let you experience mountain stream fishing. Nearby is the famed Yellowstone River and several other blue ribbon spring creeks full of rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout.
After dinner you may choose to take part in a game of softball, square dancing, sing-a-longs or a western dance. Or, if you would like a more relaxed evening, enjoy a nightcap in our cozy lounge, curl up with a good book next to the stone fireplace, enjoy the peace and serenity of the outdoors with a late evening stroll or totally unwind with a moonlight soak in the hot tub.
Nestled high above the Paradise Valley, Mountain Sky Guest Ranch offers a true western experience. Horseback riding, hiking, fishing, tennis, sauna, hot tub, and heated pool are just a few of the activities you may choose to enjoy.
Meals are an event at the ranch. We serve hearty breakfasts with freshly baked pastries and muffins, along with fresh fruits. Buffet lunches served outdoors include a variety of ethnic dishes as well as homemade soups and salads. Dinners range from a pool side barbecue to a seven-course gourmet dinner that may feature fresh salmon, rack of lamb, or roasted duckling. Your sweet tooth will be equally pleased with our homemade cookies and treats.
Our refurbished rustic cabins date back to the Thirties. Our modern accommodations have large picture windows so you can enjoy the breathtaking mountain views. Children are especially welcomed at the ranch with organized activities and games with our counselors. Mountain Sky is also available for conferences and meetings.
Directions: To locate Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, turn off I-90 at Livingston, and proceed south on Highway 89. Continue 39 miles south of Livingston (past Emigrant,) you will see the sign for Mountain Sky Guest Ranch at Big Creek Road turn-off. Be advised that the 4.5 miles to the ranch are slow. For travelers who go to the ranch from Yellowstone, the Mountain Sky turn-off will be on the left hand side of Highway 89, 30 miles north of Gardiner.
