The legendary North Fork Hostel and historic Square Peg Ranch are situated on the bank of the Flathead River's North Fork at the western rim of the Crown of the Continent, Glacier National Park. With unparalled natural surroundings, they are the perfect base for experiencing outdoor adventure or a tranquil rest within comfortable, rustic accommodations. Small cabins are available for rent at the hostel, as well as log homes at the Square Peg Ranch. Hostel rents for $15.00 per night. Cabins rent for $30.00 and $65.00 plus tax. Tipi rental and camping is $10 per person, plus tax. Old fashioned atmosphere with propane and kerosene lights (no electricity in Polebridge.) The hostel and the log cabins are heated by wood stoves. Propane cooking ranges and refrigerators available for preparing your own meals with completely furnished kitchens. Spiffy outhouses. Guests have use of cross country boots and skis, snowshoes and mountain bikes for a small fee. Bring your own food, flashlight, towels and sleeping bags. Sheets are available for rent. Directions: The North Fork Hostel and Square Peg Ranch are 28 miles from West Glacier using Camas Road (except when the Park is snowed in for the winter) which avoids a rough section of the Fork Road. The road north of Columbia Falls to Polebridge is route 486 (about 35 miles) which is a gravel road with sections of pavement.
