State Line Trail (46) follows the Idaho/Montana border along the Bitterroot Divide. It features immense views of both states. Directions: Take Highway 12 south. Just past Lolo Hot Springs is the Fish Creek Road. Take that north and within 2 miles find Road 9942. Follow that road all the way up to the gate at the top. From there follow the road to the trailhead. This trail will take you all the way to Lookout Pass if you like.
