Rendezvous Ski Trails are operated and maintained by the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce. This Nordic trail system winds 42 km through the Gallatin National Forest next to Yellowstone National Park. The trail system includes a wide skating lane and diagonal stride tracks. The U.S. Nordic and Biathlon teams train here during the month of November. Hundreds of other race enthusiasts converge on West Yellowstone for weeks of early season training. Dogs and snowmobiles are prohibited. These trails are open from December 1st through March 30th. The high elevation of the area allows for plenty of snow and the trails range from easiest to most difficult. Skiers are charged $3.00 for a day pass, $20.00 for an individual season pass, and $40.00 for a family season pass. Passes are available for sale at the Hebgen Lake Ranger District Office, the West Yellowstone Chamber of Commerce, and several ski shops in the town of West Yellowstone. West Yellowstone offers incomparable backcountry ski touring and telemarking in addition to the Rendezvous Ski Trails system. A short drive puts you in the middle of millions of acres of gentle backcountry touring terrain.
