Four person capacity; cost $20.00. Road to cabin not plowed. Access distance varies with snow conditions. The cabin was originally built and used as a line cabin for ranchers and then donated to the Forest Service in 1910. The cabin overlooks Canyon Creek and is situated within a lush riparian meadow. An outhouse (not accessible to the disabled) is available. No drinking water or electricity are available. Directions: The cabin is located 30 miles southwest of Whitehall. Take Montana Highway 55 past Silver Star to the Iron Rod Bridge on the Jefferson River. Just before crossing the bridge exit onto Forest Service Road 125 and follow signs to Hell's Canyon, approximately 12 miles.
