Ross Creek Overlook does not provide a vantage point of great height, but the traveler obtains a dramatic view of the Cabinet Mountains and Bull Lake Valley. The overlook offers pullouts and bus parking is available; trailers are not recommended. From this overlook it is only a short distance to the Ross Creek Scenic Area, a grove of giant western red cedars that are 500 years old and set in a rain forest atmosphere. A picnic area and .9-mile nature trail are available. Trailer parking may be found just off Highway 2. Directions: From Troy, follow US Highway 2 east for 3 miles to Montana Highway 56. Turn south and travel 17 miles to Road 398. Turn and follow for approximately 2 miles to the overlook. Ross Creek Overlook-USFS Kootenai National Forest, Libby, MT 59923 | ||||||
