At West Fork Meadows Ranch, we have all you could want in a western Montana vacation experience. Our log cabin rentals consist of seven log cabins; four of these log cabins are one-bedroom log cabins and three of the log cabins are three-bedroom log cabins. Each log cabin has its own inherent lodging characteristics. Each log cabin is self-contained and has modern facilities such as a fully-equipped kitchen, wood stove or fireplace, and cozy down comforters. The log cabin rentals are available by the night, several nights, the week (based on seven-night stay), or longer. Obviously, the longer the log cabin rental, the less the lodging per night.
We have great trout fishing, both spinning rod and fly fishing, right on the ranch, where the West Fork of the Bitterroot River runs through it. Also, there is great trout fishing in Painted Rocks Lake, which almost joins the ranch at the north end.
Here at the West Fork Meadows Ranch in the heart of the Bitterroot Mountains of Western Montana, you will want to have your cameras and/or video cam handy, as well as a good pair of binoculars. You never know what wildlife you may come upon while horseback riding, mountain biking, backpacking or fly fishing from the ranch.
For guests who rent our log cabins, we have several mountain bikes, however the more avid and adventurous mountain biker will want to bring his own bike and equipment. The mountain biking trails available range from the relaxed to the more challenging. Often the horseback riding trails, mountain biking trails and the hiking/backpacking trails are one and the same.
So, if you are seeking a true western Montana Bitterroot Mountain log cabin vacation experience that has it all.
West Fork Meadows Ranch is the only place to be.
Directions: From Missoula follow Highway 93 South to Darby, turn right on Highway 473 (West Fork Road) Follow the paved road to Painted Rocks Lake, take the left side around the lake and a 1/4 of a mile after the State Park at mile marker 26 you will see, on the right side of the road, our sign. Turn right on Coal Creek Road, you will see our ranch from there.
