The Bearmouth area, once the trailhead to the gold camps of the Garnet Mountains, now provides visitors an opportunity to tour the abandoned ghost towns and reflect upon their bustling history. For a feeling of that time, gold panning can be done just down from the Chalet.
Rising above the silvery cottonwoods and pines on the Clark Fork River, the Chalet Bearmouth provides a haven and playground for campers and visitors alike.
Our Chalet is a full service area offering beautiful riverside camping, lodging, and elegant dining with year round recreational activities just outside the door.
Directions: Chalet Bearmouth is located 33 miles east of Missoula on I-90. Take Exit 138, go north approximately 0.25 mile to old Highway 12, turn right. Chalet is 0.75 mile on your right side. We can be seen from the highway.
