Charley Montana Bed & Breakfast: The adventure of the Frontier Gateway lives on in the Krug Mansion in Glendive, Montana. This grand 8,000 square foot, 25-room home was built in 1907 for millionaire stockman Charles Krug by St. Louis architect Herbert Chivers. The fascinating history of the Krug family and the building's unique character led to listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The visitor enjoys more than 2,000 square feet of public space, including the ten foot ceilings with nine foot quarter sawn oak pocket doors, abundant carved original wood in quarter sawn oak and mahogany, beveled and leaded glass windows, butler's pantry, antique bank vault door on family wine cellar, columned fireplaces, mahogany conversation area, Krug family antique furnishings, books, art, and linens.
The Krug family preserved their home's authenticity for ninety years, and it's still pretty much the way it was. Now, the public can enjoy the Krug Mansion, as guests at the Charley Montana Bed & Breakfast. Beyond the historic ambience, the bed and breakfast guests enjoy queen, or twin beds in large, bright rooms with period decor, clawfoot tubs with showers, ranch hand breakfasts, casual atmosphere, spectacular scenery in nearby Makoshika State Park and the Yellowstone River, nearby hiking, horseback riding, biking, tennis, hunting, paddlefishing; convenient drive to Medora, Theodore Roosevelt (90 minutes), Yellowstone (1/2 day away) and Glacier (1 day's drive) National Parks. Explore pioneer museum, galleries, antiques, and conveniences of downtown in this historic town.

Directions: Charley Montana Bed & Breakfast can be reached by taking Interstate 94 to Exit 215 to city center on Merrill; turn right 1 block .past first stop light. (Bell Street) You will see the big brick house 3 blocks ahead on the corner of Bell and Douglas streets.
