Stonehouse Inn is located on a quiet street. Picture yourself peacefully nestled in a century old stone house overlooking the historic gold town of Virginia City. The century seems to melt away while you relax on the porch swing and watch the sun set over Boot Hill. The house, built in 1884 by a blacksmith who came to Virginia City by wagon, is a large two story home. Twelve foot ceilings, antique brass beds, stenciling and antiques lend an authentic and romantic touch After beginning your day with one of our gourmet breakfasts, you may tour historical sites in and around Virginia City. Narrated tours in a vintage fire truck or stage coach provide interesting insight about the history of Virginia City. Many small shops line Main Street for gifts and souvenirs. A short ride on a small work train will take you to Nevada City, a completely restored eighteenth century ghost town. There you can enjoy the extensive collection of antique music machines and admire the beautifully restored 1912 Baldwin Steam Engine. Nightly in Virginia City, melodramas and vaudeville performances are presented at the historic Gilbert Brewery and the Opera House. We know your stay will be exceptional.
