Lodge Grass is situated along the Little Bighorn River and is on the Crow Indian Reservation. The community was named after Lodge Grass Creek, which empties into the Little Bighorn River. This area was noted for being a trading center for ranchers where their herds grazed the land. The first post office was established in 1900 with George Pease as postmaster.
Lodge Grass is located in southeastern area of Montana, on the Crow Indian Reservation on I-90.
